Here you go, pics from a thread I posted almost 2 years ago. Unfortunately its not quite so shiny now, a lot of dust and some new oil leaks.

Is it possible for the oil cooler to spring a leak? I changed the seals when I had the engine out.

Hello,

Full frontal shiny bits....

The oil coolers on these and CTs and so on do sometimes leak.. normally due to the rubber oil seals.

Depending on what cooler you have you need to use the 'offset' seals found in the better kits..eg Ehring..

This has a bigger ridge on one side than the other which fits the cooler side..

The cheapo kits have a symmetrical seal.. which usually leaks..

To test the cooler off the engine.. stand it with the in/out holes at the top.. flush and fill with thinners..leave for 30 mins.. if there is a leak the level will have dropped..

Hope this helps..

Cordialement,

:ok

PS: free tune up and bbq for all Aircooled visitors.. :)
