Charging aux battery when on hook up

Post by IndigoSteve »

On advise I'm starting another thread for this question.

I have a t25 westfalia club joker. It has a westfalia charger under the bench seat and I believe it should charge the batteries on hook up but they do not seem to get a charge. (Only judging based on kitchen display panel lights)

So my questions are

1. Should it charge whilst on hook up - I am aware that some only power fridge and power sockets on hook up

2. If it should - what is the best way to test it?

3. If it's not working what's a good alternate charger?

Hope that makes sense.

If it's not charging the batteries it could be the 2 amp fuse, the one on top of the BBB.First place that I'd look at is changing that?

BBB = "Buzzing Black Box" = the battery charger (about the size of a house brick) fitted to some / most Westies.

Has yours got one ?

Yes, it should charge while on hook up. You'll know if it's working because it will emit a quiet buzz and get warm. If it doesn't it's quite likely (as the previous poster mentioned) that the 2A fuse has blown. To check it, simply take out the four screws holding the top half of the case and lift it off.
