Hi
I'm coming to the end of doing up my van and have rollered my van. After doing all the necessary welding I used a red oxide paint to protect the metal prior to painting. I found that to cover with the bright yellow I used needed quite a few coats, 6 to be exact! So all in all I ordered 2 x 2.5 of the yellow - have 1ltr left for touching up - and just 1 ltr of the white for the hi-top, gave that 3 coats.

I am delighted with the surface finish and would not hesitate to do it again.
Best of luck with yours.

Must have missed your thread John. You have no idea how much it means to me to see people transform their beloved campers with a roller repaint. For me, it was born out of having to find a solution as a one-parent family and I've not regretted it either. The whole thing has run full circle since I did mine ten years ago as I meet so many others at meets that have done theirs. If you need any inspiration, take a much closer look at the finish on modern cars - its almost identical to the roller finish and despite the occasional snobby comment from the ill-informed, it not only works, it makes subsequent repairs so much easier. Looks fantastic by the way.
Quick thanks to all those I've chatted to via email recently (both in and out of 80-90).
