Re: Rev counter question
I have this exact one in my van. It is fine. It isn't particularly responsive, but then neither is my engine! My only issue is the blue backlight is very bright at night. It lights me up when I am driving! I have mine attached to the dash in its pod using a sticky number plate mount between the dash and the drivers door pillar.

Re: Rev counter question
Thanks for that, good to know that these are ok but the blue nighttime illumination sounds a bit off putting!

Re: Rev counter question
They are very good for the price. Yes the illumination is very bright, I just fitted a 25k ohm resistor inline to tone it down.Ant-t wrote:Thanks for that, good to know that these are ok but the blue nighttime illumination sounds a bit off putting!

Re: Rev counter question
What is max recommended RPM for a WBX motor?
I'm thinking that one will never see more than half way up it's scale (not that it matters of course).

5400 rpm, but there is not much over 4500, even less with a DF where all the torque is at the bottom.

Re: Rev counter question
I am not an electrical specialist by any means so I was wondering if the resistor has to be a specific type...wire wound for example, or will any 25k Ohm resistor do? I imagine there is little current to deal with?

Re: Rev counter question
Something like-
http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/metal-film-2w ... istor-d22k" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
2w should be more than ample

Re: Rev counter question
1/8 Watt resistor (tiny) would be fine at the quoted value quoted above (~25K)
