Are the LED'S with built in resistors ok or would it be better to get each separate?

They're fine although you could increase the resistor value slightly to reduce brightness if they don't suit. I like to test the whole thing off the vehicle and see what looks best but 12v LEDS with resistors already attached are handy things and easy to wire up.

Order from China/Hong Kong etc. They don't take that long to get here and their postage costs are a fraction of ours. I have drawers full of stuff I can pull on for almost any project. Lot of fun. Have a go with tri-colour LEDs or even these which I've used extensively in my back lights: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw= ... 0&_sacat=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The LEDs from Ebay arrived and I fitted them. Very pleased overall. Slightly stiff to insert/turn, but got there in the end.
Initially did not work at all, but I think there is some kind of connector for the whole dash pod to nearest the windscreen which came loose with the jolt involved in removing the pod.
They are a warmer colour in real life than shown in these pics
