Rear side window frame rust help

Post by garry247 »

Van is getting a well earned Respray but the rear left window bottom was rotten under the rubber. It looks like it was an old panel van. Where would I get a replacement part.

See pic.

Thanks in advance.

Looks like it has been repaired before in the past, judging by the visible welds there.
It would be a matter of seeing exactly how the previous repair was done... and then cut out all the rusty bits and weld in new pieces from a sheet of new metal.

looks more like lumps of pod than weld  , thats a simple enough repair its only flat sheet, i note the usual rust under/behind the slider cover, how bad is it ? if shot then you need this
Image
and it includes the upper swaging and you cut the very top down to suit your window aperature.

A lot of people seem to be doing it, but do you realise your sharing all your family photos with this link.
Sorry to point it out if you know.
