Hi all,
I have just had a quick look on wiki but cant find what i am looking for.
I have a CU engine running an electric fuel pump; no issues but the fuel pump is sited in the engine bay, possibly above the fuel so the engine will run ok from cold but if starting from hot the engine will spin well but take a while to fire.
I would like to site the pump on the outlet to the tank via a filter and use a pukka relay, the VW number I have is a 321 906 059D or G or H for the fuel pump relay. Before I spend £30 on a relay, is this the right relay for a non injected CU engine???
From memory some relays are for an injection set up and some for a carb set up.
Thanks
Pete

Re: Fuel pump relay
Those relays will work either type of pump.

Re: Fuel pump relay
Hi all,
I have got the relay and it has finally come to the top of the list of things to do.
The fuel pump is currently fitted in the engine bay, my plan is to put it under the van next to the tank outlet and after the filter, that's the easy bit.
I have the relay and a base to suit with all the proper terminals etc but were do other people fit the relay and where do you take the + volts feed off? Is there a suitable feed to the small black box in the engine bay with the plugs in on the left rear side??
Thanks

Re: Fuel pump relay
The easiest place is in the engine bay where the you can pick up the ignition and coil connection easily. The main power can come off the spare + terminal on the back of the alternator via an inline fuse.
