Jx fuel Stop solenoid
Anyone managed to get a fuel stop solenoid out of a jx fuel pump? Is it a special tool that's needed - I think mine has gone.
Also, can it be removed in situ or does the pump have to be removed and taken apart?

I think it can be done in situ - syncroandy has a PDF manual for the JX injection system that covers this on his website - the relevant section is 23-18.

Easiest is to punch it round with a small cold chisel. Otherwise you have to take the plate that supports the lda and throttle cable off the end. Not a good design!!! Allen head bolts.
Is it not clicking?

It is clicking, but doesn't seem to be as loud / clunky as it used to.
The van ran perfectly until it literally just stopped a few seconds after firing it up. There's fuel flowing through the feed and return lines, but literally nothing coming out of the injector end of the pump.

Re: Jx fuel Stop solenoid
Might be worth just making a lead up to apply 12v direct from the battery to see if that holds it open as the current one might be losing voltage.

Yeah, I'd already done that at the roadside - no joy.

Re: Jx fuel Stop solenoid
Did you check that there was 12v between the terminal and engine and also the between terminal and battery negative? If they differ in voltage the engine earth cable would be suspect.
Failing that it looks as though you are going to have to get down and dirty with the solenoid.

Yeah, I checked the voltages. Going to take it out tomorrow when I've got a chance and put 12v to it while I can watch the plunger.
Hopefully it'll be that as it'll only cost me peanuts to replace it!

Re: Jx fuel Stop solenoid
So, I finally managed to get the solenoid out.
I cranked it a little with the solenoid out an diesel started to seep out of the hole - meaning that fuel is getting through to that point. The solenoid still isn't clicking like it should so I took the plunger out and tried to start it like that.
Unfortunately there was no joy - even with the injector pipes disconnected at the pump end there was nothing squirting out.
Am I looking at a new pump? Could it just be that the pump itself has drained itself of fuel (although there is fuel going through the feed and return pipes). Should fuel only seep out from where the stop solenoid is our should it be more of a gush?
