Sump plug dilemma 2.1 petrol
Good morning all, advise needed from the collective engineering knowledge bank, when I rebuilt my MV engine the sump plug had already been stripped and helicoiled so I thought it best at that time to tap the case to 16mm and fit the citroen/peugot plug, I am not ham fisted and treated the plug gently but the thread has now gone again whilst draining the oil to fit a new bypass and oil cooler. The question I would like answered is at this point should I helicoil for the 16mm plug or tap out to 17mm and fit a custom made plug, which method would give me another chance if it does not work without stripping the engine and having the hole welded and retapped
