Tip re fuel mixture problem
A couple of years ago we spotted the source of a minor mixture problem, that wasn't the usual. The rubber carburettor mounting flange on my DF engine was perished and cracked. It was on the van nearly 30 years, so to be expected I guess. Anyway, the point is if you are having a mixture problem, it may not be a failing carb etc, it may well be this little item allowing extra air into the system. Now the bad news. If you have this same setup, the replacement flange is more difficult to find than hens teeth. I eventually tracked one down in France.
