Sterling Analogue VSR

Post by Tobias13 »

Morn all, how do??

So I have been given an analogue VSR (http://sterling-power.com/products/v...80-160a-12-24v" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), which connects direct to vehicle battery via a fuse. I am unfamiliar with this direct method as any previous dealing have been with a split charge spliced into the alternator.

Is this compatible with the Sargent 160?

I gave a good basic knowledge of electrical systems (mainly domestic) and am more than happy to instal myself but have found in life that it always pays to ask the experts for advice, so any give would be much appreciated.

Thank you

All you are doing is using a wire from a battery instead of a wire from an alternator - there is no difference in the relay and what it allows to pass.
I don't know what you are thinking concerning compatibility - if the system works with an alternator triggered relay what difference are you concerned with?

Sargent 160 is a power unit similar to PMS/Zig.

Oldiebut Goodie,

no real concerns mate, just think it best to get advice from people who have done similar or who have more experience than I have. your reply for example has confirmed what I was thinking and for that I am grateful so thank you!!
