Re: Lining the dash
Wrapped in full grain leather. Was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be as the leather was easy to pull.

The hardest bit was the difflock panel. I had to have 3 goes at that before I got it perfect.
Can easily use rub dye to bring it back to new once it sun fades. Looks like new every year!

If you're going to all the trouble I'd recommend sealing the heater housing with good quality sealer when you put the whole thing together. That way it doesnt leak air in the joints. I used Tiger seal (wear gloves and disposable suit).
Ummm.. dash out. Bringing back memories ....couldnt believe the amount of crap in the heater system before I cleaned it all out.

Leaves! Lots and lots of them were packed in there. Take photos of where heater cables go to/from for when you put it all back together. Leather was OK to work with. You'll need a heat gun on its lowest setting to soften it all up a bit. Was about 0 degrees at the time though. Sure would be easier to work with the warmer it is.
Using full grain leather means you can stretch it a lot without it showing stretched.
Its easily doable if you have time and patience.
