I'm kinda a expert.. once you drill the jets all bets are off, anything could happen.. normally just a massive yellow flame

But when throttled down to "almost off" they do tend to go a bit yellow dont they?

Aye, which is why I said :-
ghost123uk wrote: Surely If you drilled the gas jets larger, as you have, and now too much gas is coming out, that would make it burn rich, with a yellowy flame (not white [as yours is]) because of too little oxygen [in the current mix]?

AlandAnn's original issue and subsequent results after the "modification" are a tad confusing.

Possibly he closed and sealed the room far too well to keep the heat in after the getting the gas warm suggestion? This would eventually result in a white flame due to lack of oxygen?

If it was a brand new set - should have taken it back.

I bought a 'cheap one', absolute beggar to light but when it did it had yellow flames about a foot high!
Took it back, he offered to exchange but I thought better take cash

back to my original question, can anyone tell me where I can get new jets for my two ring burner before I do something that I might regret ?

You will have to go back to the manufacturer, jets are sized to very exact measurements, to produce the correct flame and output for that appliance. If it's a cheap hob, chances are you wont get spare parts and will just have to buy another.

Thanks, unfortunately I don't have any details on the cooker. Guess I'll just have to buy a new one.
