Leaking windows ?

Post by Budgie7 »

My Tailgate appears to be leaking water in around the window seal, is there an easy fix or is it glass out and re seal or new rubber. This also seems to be rusting the inside of the tailgate by the lower corners of the window area.
My side windows where very wet in the corners last year when camping ,which I thought was condensation. Maybe all my rubbers are perished. They look in good condition and are not cracked or weathered at all. Can you re seal then in situ ?.
My van is Caravelle which I think has factory fitted windows. Any ideas ?
Thanks

problem with resealing ? or as you mean ,adding goop whist its still fitted is that you will be keeping all the wet in there to wreak havoc if not already,, pop one out and investigate, also the seals may seem good but will have lost some suppleness . a cheap try is get a cartridge of mastic (non silicone) and pop window and refit seal with the goop and see how you go.
also post up some pickies of any rust/blisters and same when the window is out
