Gears work great but stiff after new bushes

Post by garry247 »

Hi

I have installed a new gear linkage including all joints.
The gear change is really smooth but is stiff when dry. If I go under and spray with some wd40 on the points where the shaft goes through the plastic bushes Its really smooth again. Should I smear some grease over them? If yes what type.

Cheers.

I was wondering about this myself lately. I thought you were meant to pack grease inside the two halves of the white plastic bushes.

If so that's a lot of work to take it off again. Hopefully I can pack some around it.

Any idea what grease?
