Bush help

Post by crazymilk »

I am looking at replacing a few things on my suspension/steering, these included

Track rods
Steering rack bushes
ARB Bushes
Drop Link Bushes
Steering Couplings

I notice that there are different thickness's available for the ARM bushes/Drop Link. 19mm, 21mm or 23mm I think
Is there a way of knowing which I need (without stating the obvious of getting underneath with a ruler!)

I know I have the straight drop links rather than the bend/cranked ones if that helps

Thanks all as always :)

I could make out the part number on the old OE bushes on mine:

Image

251 411 045 B = 19mm
251 411 045 = 21mm
251 411 045 A = 23mm

It's worth a look to see if yours are the originals, you can see with the steering on full lock so no need to roll about on the floor. :D

p.s updating the bushes to poly has made a massive improvement, well worth doing IMO. :ok

Put a 19mm spanner on it - you'll know instantly then
