Rear number plate lights not working

Post by Stitch2015 »

Hi all,

my rear number plate lights on my Doka are not working, i have checked the bulbs and they are all good. i checked the fuse and it has blown. i checked the wiring and for the most it seems all ok i did put some insulation tape over a few suspect bits but the fuse keeps blowing.

what else do you think it could be?

i have my MOT on the 19th feb so i need to sort it.

thanks Dan

Does it blow as soon as you switch the lights on or on the road, say as you go over bumps etc?

so its either in the wiring or the actual light units, next step would be disconnect the light units and test again....
there is a cheap easy fix if it is the actual light units .....

Yup, thats the solution I advocate. reg light, side and tail lights should all be LEDs in my view. That way if you do have to leave it parked somewhere and need those lights on, you won't flatten your battery.
