Leaking around rear light fittings

Is this a common issue? I had this cavity rebuilt when we bought the van and now look at it. There is a drain hole but clearly the waters getting in from the light fitting (poor seals) because the internal gutterfrom the rear door flows on to it..

It normally comes down the D pillar from the vent, just wax the hell out of it.

There was a drip off the body of the light fitting, just out of e shot on the left. Didn't have time to check but I think I've questioned in my head why there aren't decent seals on my fittings. Might have to try some DIY variety.

IIRC the lights have a foam seal around the edges of them, just enough to stop water coming in. But the usual source for water there is straight down the pillar air intakes and it pools in the cavity. When it's raining you can hear it dripping as you try to sleep. Get some Dinitrol or Dynax on it.

And find where it puddles most and make a drain hole if there isn't one already.

There's a hole in the middle (in photo) but clearly it doesn't all run there.

Get it bone dry, Vactan the rust then underseal again. Also, use the search for 'rear vent leaks' as lots of great solutions have been penned over the years including cable tie on rear vents which directs water away, as well as magnetic strip strategically placed to divert water from vent.

No seals there. Time to fab something up.
And yes there is leakage down the vent. Drilled a couple of drains. Will treat when dry. If not soon then with aid of a hairdryer.
What about The right hand side where it is all boxed in?
