Trim clips not holding
I have just replaced all my door cards with new ply and covered with vinyl. I bought new genuine trim clips but they just do not hold. The vinyl that I covered them in was backed with 3 mm scrim foam so the panel ends up thicker. Anyone else had this problem and what is the fix. I have scoured the net for some clips that are a bit longer but can't find anything that will fit into holes on the panel in the same way the originals do.

Re: Trim clips not holding
well i usually mark the panel on the inside then cut away the foam to enable a correct and cleean edge around the panel this way it sits in the reccess as it should , also no issues with the clips, so easay solution ,peel it back and remove

Yes sounds like you need to reduce the amount of material between the back of the cards and the interior body work, 3mm foam won't allow the clips to hold. As above you will have to trim it back

Ah I am with you so just of the foam right at the edge of the panel so no foam goes over the edge or round the back. Thanks, obvious really I suppose.
