Can't get my handbrake warning light to work, have pulled the assembly from the dash pod and cleaned the contacts, tested the circuit where the bulb sits with a 2 volt battery and the lamp does work. I know the light should come in with the handbrake on but no joy at the mo. Checked fuse 18 which I believe is the correct one and this is ok. Also fitted new brake light switch as brake lights weren't working and that fixed the lights but still no handbrake light. Looked in my Haynes manual and looks like there's a switch but don't know where this is, don't really know how the lamp works to be honest?
My only other concern is I had a brake servo upgrade and I believe the master cylinder is from another VW model as the brake light switch is in a different position to the T25. I do have two wires dangling in a proper connecter but aren't connected to anything? These are on the same part of the loom as the brake light wires which do work, could they be low brake fluid warning wires that I no longer have due to the master cylinder change.
Hope that makes sense, any help be would be great

Re: Handbrake warning lamp
The switch is on the handbrake lever mechanism, it's like the courtesy light switch on the door. If you take the wire off the switch and ground it the warning light should come on.

Re: Handbrake warning lamp
Quick update found the switch on the base of the handbrake looks ok. Did a connectivity test to the day and that's ok so do have a connection from the switch

Re: Handbrake warning lamp
Sorted, corrosion on the switch was at fault, gave it a clean and hey presto, all done. Very happy
