Oil Pressure Sender/Gauge

Post by crazymilk »

Hi all
I would like to install an oil pressure gauge on my EJ25 conversion.

From what I have read you can add a new sender from the extra oil port at the rear of lock (nearest the bell housing)

However I am unsure what sender/adaptor I need. Any suggestion on where/what to get.

Thanks

pick your guage and sender as a set is best IMO, the sender will have a thread listed, then see if the sender fits in the area you have.

Usually people remove a switch and need to keep the switch so a T Piece is is needed, typically a T piece will have one male thread to match the hole in the engine that the switch came out of (M10x1 in a wbx), one female thread the same to refit the origional switch, the other thread size is for your new sender

so a m10x1 to 1/8 npt T piece would allow a 1/8npt oil pressure guage sender to be fitted to a wbx, if there is space.

On a wbx these isn-t space so a remote t piece is needed, this has an extra length of pipe.

If you have a spare port and no origional switch is needed then you just need an adapter, not a t piece.

You will need to find out what thread the engine has, your sender will be listed in specifications.

Have a look on eBay, plenty on there. TIM do some decent gauges.

So I am thinking I need an adapter from NPT to BSP thread.

Demon Tweeks is a good place to look at what's available.

Heres a Vdo gauge from Tweeks, cheaper than Tim
http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorspor ... sure-gauge" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And sender
http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorspor ... vdo-gauges" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Can be bought with either M10 x 1 or 1/8 NPTF thread
As said you need to find out what thread you have on the engine
