Can you help identify this part? 025 101 109 Cap *Resolved*

Post by jason_rmh »

Hi,
Im currently trying to diagnose some running issues on my girlfriends 1989 T25 1.9 Petrol.

While looking around the engine bay, behind the carburettor, I found a round cap that seems to clip in place to cover a hole on the block.
I don't think its related to my issue, but I cannot identify it from searching the part number: 025 101 109

One of the clips has broken and the cap will no longer stay in place.

Anyone know what the hole is that it is covering?
It doesn't have a seal so I guess its just a dust cover?

Here it is next to the coolant filler cap to give an idea of scale, its a little bigger than a regular bottle cap.

Thanks
Jason

Dust cover yes. Just find something else that fits snug.

I use it to get access to flywheel, a bolt through a hole locks the flywheel when removing the pulley. It may have other uses.
Never had a dust cover in mine.

Start a new thread describing the running issues I'm sure we can help.

if you are really bothered, hole is 31mm diameter, not sure if a 30 or 32mm diameter is best and may need cutting down in length but this should do
