Sliding Door Centre Track
The centre track for the sliding door on my van is badly worn. Presumably from 25 years of use, grit & dirt in the grease, etc. As a result the door is very lumpy & noisy when rolling closed and also sits low relative to the rear panel.
Does anyone know if the track is available as a replacement part and, if so, how easy it is to replace?
thanks

Mine too. Tried adjusting the height of the hinge, but it's at it's limit. I've a feeling the track is welded to the van
Not one of my skills.

Re: Sliding Door Centre Track
very simple to change, (year dependant)
the track is spotted through so just drill these out, measure one hole precisely on your van and make sure to do the same on the donor part,
along the top are a couple of fat runs of mig, vw did this as without it the runner moves an awful lot,
if the panal behind it rotten i can supply those

Thanks Mick8y.
I assume then that they are available still. Any suggestions where to try or idea of cost?

Re: Sliding Door Centre Track
Just realised I never came back with an update on this thread.
I managed to get a late type track from VW Heritage/Classic Parts. £50 or so. Understood to be 'new - old stock' from Germany.
Haven't got as far as welding it yet, though.
