Non starter

Post by rattler1014 »

Hi, my 2L air cooled 1981LHD T25 camper is playing up, I would appreciate any advice.
Jasper is parked up for the winter and I have been religiously starting him 3 times a week without any problem at all and sits and idles sweetly, however, last week as he was idling I had a slight misfire, a shudder and he cut out, now he wont start.

I've tried a booster on the battery with no joy, put more fuel in but still no joy.

I've a feeleing he run out of fuel but cant confirm this, I would really appreciate advice on this and maybe a little guidance, just hope it's nothing sinister. :ok

hello there

have you tried this suggestion from itchyfeet - on the 'no fuel through pump ' thread - a few threads down from this one?

check fuel delivery when cranking by removing fuel pipe from carb
and pointing into jar,
disconnect coil for safety.
you should get healthy spurts of fuel

hope this helps

And try the "pour an eggcup full of fuel down the carb" trick. (With at least a large wet towel to hand ;) )
This will tell you if it's a fuel delivery / shortage issue.
