WIRING DIAGRAM

Post by Mk2Tony »

Does anyone know where I might be able to get a copy of the wiring diagram for the leisure electrics in a 1981 devon conversion, I want to start rewiring the lights and get everything fused properly through a new fuse box that I have bought. At the moment I have a box with a load of wires going to it behind the fridge that I assume is original as it looks the same age as the van and all the lights etc seem to be wired through this box, it has some sort of relay (split charge?) inside and a couple of fuses on the top. I'm sure I've got a pic somewhere ill try and find it, I think I posted it on here before but no one knew what it was!

Ok I have found another thread which says it is the fridge relay here https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... 3#p8007270" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, but does my light circuit run through this too as when I wiggle the wires it does interfere with my lighting. I am trying to figure out what I can strip out and replace with fresh wire and more up to date fuses!

Here is the pic of it, not great as it was taken before I had stripped everything out and cleaned it up!

Hi,
I have a diagram for an 1982 Devon that I can email to you.
I will dig it out later.
Just looking at your picture it looks like a PO has added some wires to the fuses, I think the original wiring went into the box under the fuses but I will need to check.

Cool cheers Pete that would be awesome, email is mk2tony@hotmail.co.uk.
Yeh tbh I think the previous owner was a bit of a butcher when it comes to repairs as some of the wiring I've come across is terrible, insulation tape and twisted together wires everywhere but I'm slowly working my way through it all.
The fridge has never been connected since I bought the van, it doesn't look in the best of shape with melted wire on the back, and its the original so 34 yrs old. Just used as an extra cupboard now until I feel the need to splash out on a new one! Just want to get all the old wiring out and replace with nice new stuff running through a proper fusebox!

Cheers Pete,

Thanks for that mate you're a star that will be a great help on the weekend when I have a good look at it, at least I can label the wires up and figure out what I can and can't get rid of or renew then. I'm going to put a new split charge kit in too I think, the PO has obviously wired up the one that's in there at the mo (insulation tape a-plenty, wires going here and there joined together randomly!) I will post up how I get on over the weekend
