Removing old glue

I'm working on my interior and want to remove some old glue from paint work where carpet lining has been. Any recommendations on what to use?

Watch out for the safety precautions. The fumes are not good for you and neither is getting it on your skin.
Got a new van, but it's a 165bhp T4 [shock horror] Accurate LPG Station map here
