Lost all my coolant

Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

Its leaking from the thermostat housing it finally leaked ones it warm .full solid the little pipe t h at comes off the thermostat housing with a brown sludge

Thanks for the advice Im going to flush the system and try get some of the sludge out then replace the thermostat housing and a few bits of pipe .

Not really lol .I'll probably have to draft in somebody after iv messed it up but I'm going to give it a go .im pretty sure iv always used pink coolant but I cannot say for previous owner .iv done about 65,000 miles in with only minor fixes this is the 1st time it's broke down. Been through snow and sunshine no bother .shall I just take it to the garage :cry:

There's a method you just need to follow it.
To me sludge shouts wrong antifreeze mixed with the correct antifreeze...
It can clog up loads of things, water pumps and radiators for one.

Rust often difficult to remove from water containers too. Sloshing them with gravel apparently works quite well although in my case I gave up trying to clean it and just fitted a new one.

Whilst you are doing this, check all the thin coolant pipes for blockages, esp the bleed ring that runs around the top of the engine bay, and all the "T" pieces that run off it. Also the pipe that comes from the rear of the left hand cylinder head.
