Late AAZ pump pulley
Just in the process of assembling an AAZ from a box of bits, it has the late style pulley with no keyway. The pulley has been taken off and of course there's no reference point for it. Is there a way of putting it back on and resetting it or is it a specialist job?

Re: Late AAZ pump pulley
Or can I fit the earlier pulley with the key way and make it adjustable??

Re: Late AAZ pump pulley
There is a way to find the injection point of any pump. Kind of difficult to describe, but I'll have a go, at the risk confusing things.
Rig up a fuel supply to the pump, on the engine and with injectors and pressure pipes fitted.
Leave the cam belt off, but fit the pump pulley just tight enough to grip, in any position on the shaft, but with the three bolts in the centre of their slotted holes.
Bleed the system in the normal way right up to the injectors, until fuel without air comes out at the injectors.
Leave the injector connections slack, and rotate the pump using a finger in the pulley.
The pump should be easy to rotate, as the injector connections are loose.
Now tighten no.1 injector while still rotating the pump.
The pump will hit the injection point of no.1 cylinder and stop rotating.
Keeping the shaft exactly where it is, rotate the pulley on the shaft to where it should be at TDC no. 1. (Either lining up timing marks or inserting a dowel. Not sure which you have)
Pump is now approximately set. (ie it's at TDC with 0.00mm lift but should be 0.95mm or whatever)
Now you can use a dial gauge to set up the pump lift to the specified amount at TDC, by rotating the pulley in the slotted holes.
Clear as mud?

Re: Late AAZ pump pulley
thanks for the reply, found the info here in the end.

Just rotated the shaft until the (redundant) keyway lined up with port A then set the dti and kept trying the pulley until the 6mm pin lined up.
