Recommended jump leads

Post by Sir Brixalot »

My set are a royal PITA to use. The clips have so much moulded plastic on that they're very hard to fir and the metal teeth make a poor contact. These http://www.amazon.co.uk/Trade-Quality-8 ... B00YYBDYZ4 Have good reviews. Any views or recommendations welcome

6M is a very long lead, you get a lot of voltdrop the longer the cable, better to get shorter ones IMO
get the max cable CSA you can afford, 800A doesn't mean much, larger CSA gives less voltdrop,

your stater is at the end of a 2.5m piece of cable so VW fitted 35mm2 to keep voltdrop down.

Good point, 6M! I hadn't noticed how long they were. I guess c is for copper but can't work out what CSA is,

quick search and it looks like the number of Amps quoted varies with the same CSA of cable and length so I'd look for a CSA spec of 35mm2 by the time you get to 50mm2 the price shoots up. Make sure they say copper too amazon ad says that in description

you coyld always ask the amazon seller
