Hi all
New to this Subaru marlarky so hopefully you kind folks can help.
I am looking for a replacement crank pulley for my EJ25 Outback engine as the original one is looking worse for wear.
Is it possible to get lightweight/aftermarket crank pulleys for the engine? Of course I have seen loads of options for STis ect bit not for this engine.
Another question is as I have stripped down my engine and replaced the Head Gaskets I need a diagram showing all the bretaher hoses ect and where they go. Does such a diagram exist as I can find one.
In particular I am looking for something that shows where the breather pipes from the rocker covers goes and also the block breather (see below)
The 'crank pulley' is also known as a harmonic balancer, you will see it's a two-part construction with a rubber element. It serves to dampen vibration in the crankshaft, so it 'belongs' to that engine type and should not be changed.
Syncrosport (taking a break as of summer 2024)
Volkswagen Transporter, reloaded.
the case breather has t piece small pipe then goes to the induction hose and the big one is curved and goes to manifold the two head pipes connect to the induction hose - if you get the original induction hose you should be able to work out which was which and how they originally connect and if using rjes hose the connections are pretty much the same
the head pipes actually are an intake and an outlet and air flows through the engine case; TSR delete the hoses and put filters on instead but the right side one will drip oil because that's the way the air flows on that side it is going up to the inlet manifold with the vapour in it
Thanks all
Yes I am using all Rjes parts/hose kits ect so hopefully it should be pretty self explanatory once I get to that part. The original one I took off that breather did just fall apart in my hands.
So a new crank pulley is a no no, can I spray the OEM one to make it look better, it just looks horrible and tatty atm.
