leak from temperature sender... advice please

Post by Gary.pb »

I recently found that I had a couple of minor issues with my 1900dg at which point I decided it was easier to drop the engine. One of the issues was a slight leak from the thermostat housing (the lower section). This was replaced as part of the work I did to the engine. However after running the engine there seems to be a leak from where the temperature sender fits into the thermostat housing. I used a new 'o' ring but even with the retaining clip on the sender still feels a bit loose. Can anybody offer any advise as to how to rectify this.

Cheers.. Gaz

I had a similar issue. Make sure that none of the old o ring or gunk is fouling the hole. I would also use a new retaining clip as I found that the old one was a bit loose.
