Anybody know off hand how much an individual horn draws amps wise?

Re: Horns
About 8 amps each is about right.

Re: Horns
Hi, there was no horn relay on my 86 westy so all those amps went through the horn contact ring on the steering wheel causing it to burn through. I fitted a relay and a pair of horns after fixing the contact ring. Hard to believe there is no horn relay!
I also had a starter problem , the solenoid takes over 30 amps to pull in initially and that is through the start contact on the ignition switch. I replaced the switch due to intermittent starting and discovered this so fitted a relay in the engine bay. Problem solved !

Again, thanks for the info, these small electrical jobs are fine little projects for me.

Re: Horns
I've got a twin air horn like this on my van.

Plenty loud enough to get the attention of any myopic car driver who doesn't use their mirrors or indicators.

Re: Horns
I suspect the one you've linked to is actually just the high tone horn for a twin tone setup, and you'll actually also need the low tone version to get the proper 'blare' sound. Their listings show the upper one to be 510Hz and lower one to be 410 or 420Hz - GSF show the lower one to be 420Hz.
There's an online tone generator here that will show you what the two will sound like together.
I'd be interested in how this turns out, as I'd quite like a slightly more 'aggressive' horn sound too.
