Windscreen repair

Post by Superal »

HI all,

I have finally got round to having some work done to Colin the camper van so thought i share on here on the work done so far with the windscreen taken out. as you can see from the photos the rust is worst than it looked from the outside. This is not done by me but by a small business near me called old school paintwerk in northampton.

Depends how badly it's holed. On mine the upright lip was rusted as well so couldn't have done it with the dash in place.

yeah i wanted the dash doing as well so they had to take the dash out on mine. As the rust had effected the metal dash as well.

I suspect I have similar issues (but perhaps slightly worse :( ). Can I ask how much you are being charged? - did they remove the dash to repair?

Thanks

Mike

Windscreen repair

Post by Superal »

No sorry restoman should took some before pictures but forgot too! Mike i got charged 600 but had work done on the high top to get rid of the damage done by a previous owner. Also had all four wheels done in gloss black. So would of been a lot cheaper if I haven't that work done.

Some more pictures of the work done on the front of the hightop:-

I have sourced 3 piece repair panels for lower section these go along the bottom and up the sides approx 4 ins ?? Is it best to use as patch pieces or in one continuous piece all welded obviously not all areas are rusted those being in 3ins sections in length ,cheers !
