I have recently bought a 2.0 Aircooled, but the temperature gauge on the dash does not register at all.
What is the recommended approach for diagnosing this?
Thanks in advance

Errrrr - does it say what the temp gauge is supposed to be measuring ??
The temp gauges usually measure coolant temp - and you don't have any of that???
Perhaps you have the wrong gauge cluster installed??

Hi Andy and welcome to club 80-90
MidLifeCrisis has a point = Aircooled T25's don't have a temp gauge
You can "retro fit" a device to either the spark plug washer or the dipstick tube to measure engine temp, but that is not often done and anyway, usually would feature a separate "pod" type gauge.

I don't recall a temp gauge on any air-cooled van.
Wrong cluster retro fitted.
