Apologies for the probably stupid question, but what are the tanks under the front wheel arches for? I bought a non runner diesel with a petrol engine conversion and came with box of bits inside - including the tanks for under the wheel.arches. I've got the van running now but am unsure what these are needed for.
Thanks in advance.

hello there -

half way down -
Under your front wheel arches there are two plastic tanks these are your fuel tank breathers. They can also be a a potential rust trap. take them off and clean out behind them. When you take your van for a jet wash give plenty of atttention to the wheel arch areas particularly behind the lip of the wheel arch
hope this helps

Re: Tanks under front arches
Just on the breather note - could the tanks be replaced by the likes of a crank breather filter? So that no tank was needed and therefore no rust trap?

I'd imagine not. But then technology has moved on abit since then. Just trying to think outside the box abit. Aftermarket catch tanks or breathers maybe a better design than the current one and rather than just refit it there might be another way and this would be the time for me to do it. I'm new to t25s so its learning curve.

Re: Tanks under front arches
You cant cheat physics. The tank has a big valley in the middle (a legacy from Aircooled heater ducting to the cab, it also provides space for the gear linkage etc) which results in two "hills" each side. These have to be vented and balanced to allow filling.
If you want to keep the muck out of the corners, buy a set of wheel arch liners

Good morning.
Does anyone know where I can source these from?
I can’t find them anywhere.
