Vibration making intermittent connection - likely connector at dash pod but could be elsewhere I suppose.

What about headlights chap? Is it just at idle? If connection doesn't fix it look at voltage regulator. :ok

Voltage regulator plays no part in dash lights - separate circuit.

I think the voltage regulator on the alternator was where Elvis was going, I had a faulty one which caused lights etc to pulse and eventually strand me with a flat battery. As the bulb on the heater blower switch is flickering as well, that might point towards a problem at the light switch, or whereever the earth labelled 20 in Haynes ends up, as that bulb isn't connected through the 14way dash connector.

Voltage regulator in Charging circuit chap, pulsating headlights at idle are good indication. Hopefully its an easy fix and nothing more than a wiggle or an earth Rob :ok

Voltage regulator in Alternator is very much at top of list then chap. If youve got a decent MM etc it will show voltage change :ok

Aye. Stick a meter on and pinpoint the cause first.

Looks like I found that one without looking Rob. The multiplug can be a weakness at times.
