Snapped gear stick

Post by juansetos »

Hi, Has anyone any ideas as to what I can do with the problem of a snapped gear leaver. This is the second time it has snapped, the first was above the floor of the van and was easily welded but this time it is below the floor and at the top of the forks which join onto the rods to the gear box. I have spent hours ringing round companies and trawling the net trying to get a replacement and no one seems to have one. They offer one for a left hand drive but not RHD. My Van is a Type 25, 1.6TD 1989. I have also been to several engineering companies to see if they could help but they all said no go. Whats wrong with british engineers.
