Well I managed to pick up the only deckless 7"tft headunit that my local Aldi had in stock, and whilst I'm impressed with it, it's going back, it's massive

It's longer at the back than my existing Sony unit and that's a standard full sized unit, the front also sticks out loads too - but that's quite a good thing as when the screen is out it will clear the overhang of the dash board

Guess I'll look at separate screens for a camera now

I've took pictures and I'll upload them later

1st and 4th gear are likely to smack the front of the stereo too.

Chinese sat nav arrived today. Comes with reversing camera. Will report back once I've installed and tested. IGO My Way Primo is the software. Basically a cut-down 7" tablet I suppose.

Reversing camera comes as an extra item/box and is wireless (handy) so you could even put it on a trailer. Used sat nav on way home - seemed far more responsive than my old tomtom. Recalculates route extremely quickly. Nice big screen at last. Seems ok for £30. Will put up some video including quality of reversing camera. Fairly sure I'll need to tap into reversing switch for that.

Just to report back. I purchased a Philips ce138 Bluetooth car stereo. The depth is mega slim compared to my sony, over 50% less!

Nice stereo.
