Seat trimmer recommendations

Post by petethefeet »

Hi all,
I am wanting to recover the standard vw front seats in the dark brown vinyl and ginger coloured fabric, i have found the fabric that is a close match but I can't find a trimmer locally to do the job.
I spoke to Bromsgrove Auto trimmers at Busfest but they are a 4 hour round trip away. Can anyone recommend a local trimmer to me in south Buckinghamshire??
I am happy to travel a bit to take the seats and discuss what is needed.

Thanks Pete

Shop around. It's a while since I had a quote but the front seats were about £200 each and the rear cushions £100. I can't remember where though

Hi, thanks for the responses.
I have had a verbal quote of £400 for two seats, and I am trying all the local upholsterers that deal with domestic furniture; should be able to find someone in the High Wycombe area being one of the centers of the furniture industry.

I've got a friend in the Triumph club and he got his Stag's seats recovered by a local furniture shop that did leather.

What I am finding is that the upholsterers quite often don't deal with vinyl, just leather or fabric but I will keep looking.
