Recommendations for bodywork in South Wales? And other quest

Post by polish van ben »

Hi all

Had my van for around 10 years now, originally a German ambulance, but a polish fishmongers van when I picked it up. It's due some much needed tlc both inside and out, therefore I'm looking to get it done this winter.

It'll need a number of panels replacing plus re spray, etc - does anyone have any recommendations? I live in Cardiff.

Also, the wife's about to drop our third child, that'll be three under 6. We're determined to keep the van, but now I'm also going to need to convert it from a 4 seater, 2 in cab, 2 in rear, to a five seater. I'm worried that fitting a full length rock and roll bed is going to loose us too much storage, but can't think of another solution. Does anyone have any other nifty solutions for fitting 5 in? with fixed point seat belts for relevant child seats, etc.

Thanks in advance for any help

Ben

The guy who used to do all the bodywork at Volksengineering, Dave, now has his own unit a few doors down called Dusty Dubs, he's got a facebook page not sure about a website. His work seems good I've got to take my bus down for some welding at some point when I'm not using it!

For a fifth seat, have you considered the jump seat that fits back-to-back with the cab passenger seat? These have a lap belt as standard but, I'm sure, could be fitted with a three-point using the passenger shoulder mount.
