I'm old school and ignore the heirachy. :D I'll help anyone no matter how new or inexperienced. Been known to drive miles to lend a hand.

To be honest you may do just as well just asking any local classic/vintage vehicle owners as the work isn't too difficult and they're likely to know a welder who will help you out at reasonable cost. Probably someone to paint it for you too.

Didnt know I had to introduce myself to get a reply! I am a single mum who loves her bus and wants to do it up instead of selling it. I was recommended this group by a fellow T25 owner. Not to worry I'll use my initiative and figure it out myself. Thanks and don't forget to wave! x

You don't need to introduce yourself and most people would be more than happy to pass on information. Post of few pictures of the areas you need to get repaired as that always helps. Instructions ok how to post pictures are in the wiki section. There is also a lot of information in there on most of the questions you may ask.

Do you need panel work, or just painting (doubt it'll be the latter tbh)?

Hi and welcome to club 80-90 :ok

Bit of advice from me =

Take it to at least three places for estimates.

Get a written quote that clearly states the following :-

What they are going to do.

How much it is going to cost.

How long it is going to take.

Don't let a cheery disposition and a "Aw, you don't need all that in writing love/mate, we'll look after you" attitude dissuade you from getting that written information. (ask me why I write that   )

Also take copious amounts of pictures of the dodgy areas before they start work. Ask them to take pictures of the work as it progresses, and obviously take pics of the finished job. Go and visit the van often whilst it is there.

Good luck finding a decent reliable place (they are out there), I had the opposite experience a few years ago and believe me it was hell.

p.s. Tell us roughly where you are located, someone may be able to recommend a place near you.
Got a new van, but it's a 165bhp T4 [shock horror] Accurate LPG Station map here

I am in Selsdon south croydon surrey. Will get few quotes and realise its gonna be a big job! Because I've had great fun in my van I think its gonna be worth it and should have had work done years ago when it wasn't so bad. Thank you for all the helpful replies. Will get my son to help me load photos (!) for those of you that are interested.
