Re: Adventure Overland Show,Stratford Racecourse 26-27 Sept 2015
We were met with a very grumpy Marshall who said we couldn't get in, was about 8.30. We'd been On the road for 4 1/2 hours and I wasn't best pleased. All turned rosy after, when another marshall/fellow LT fan rang me up and sneaked us round the back

We had planned to get there for 9am but saw on Website gates didn't open until 10am.
The organisation on the gate was somewhat lacking this year compared to last year.
Getting stopped to be told to drive straight on ,
Getting stopped again to be told to get into one of the three lanes and pull as far forward as you can.
Then to pay, I had to get out of the car and walk back to the tent I had just passed !
(It didn't help that I thought it was £10 each so only had a £20 note - so I had to run back to the car for the other £4 - -doh!!) Being the dodgy unscrupulous type, I could have then just jumped back in car and carried on as there was no ticket checking but no, I probably benefited from the exercise
Bit bizzarre, last year, handed the cash to the chap at the gate and was in!

We were fortunate and didn't have any trouble getting in or out. We probably would have used catering facilities if more had been available e.g. at lunch time on the Sat - apparently three catering vans just didn't turn up. Hopefully Tom Mc will read through and see the feedback on access etc and then they can make changes for next year. People should be able to get in until at least 10.00 pm on the Friday night as many come from long distances away. I remember travelling up to the old BVF show at Malvern, arriving in the dark and getting in without a problem.
