The simple answer is 'no'. Get the right stuff, or you'll end up regretting it.

I have the halfords stuff in mine, I'm happy using it and I do try to look after my engine...
Obviously if your coolant is blue at the moment, you will need to do a thorough flush.

TRIPLE QX Red (Concentrate) Antifreeze/Coolant 5Ltr

Thanks I had spotted that but never heard of the brand it looked a bit watery for concentrated. Could be a stock photo I'll nip down and have a look. Until recently they had the right stuff, I spent hundred on it during my Elite engine problems that went on for two years

Up until recently (unless they still do). ECP was selling bulk/trade containers of the correct antifreeze at a bargain price. I and a few other members bought some. Think it was in their specials section.

I can't remember how much it was when the offer was running before, but they've currently got their 20l drums in the clearance section for £36.

That's the same stuff. I think it was about £25 for 20l at the time but that special offer price is still good.

Yes, still a good price. Previously the cheapest way to get this stuff was to buy their 1litre concentrate bottles online, but those cost £2.90, so it would have cost £58 for 20l.

USE EXTRA10 promo code and get it for £32.39 (£1.62 per litre) of G12+ equivalent OAT antifreeze.

Split a 20litre with a mate and carry out a antifreeze change for £16.20 with 1.5 litres left over for top-up.

Cheers Gents. The way I go through coolant I could probably use it all on my own.

E D I T: got the pipes off and didn't lose that much. Last time I changed the radiator it was on level ground this time I've got it on ramps. It's so much easier! Bleeding it takes nearly as long as fitting the rad, noone around to rev it so I kept wedging books in which would inevitably fall out.
