Washing machine water hose fits. I don't know how much vacuum there is in this pipe, but I'd be surprised if it's enough to collapse a washing machine hose. I kept the hose from the last machine I changed specifically because CovKid mentioned it was suitable, so if you need me to send you a length it's yours for the price of the postage.

My washing machine hose has been on some years now and works perfectly but you do need to use the reinforced type, not thin wall plastic stuff. Its available in limited colours - cool blue or chilli red. :D Found mine in a neighbours junk pile.

Those that say it collapses or doesn't work are wrong, unless as I mentioned, they're using very very cheap hose. It doesn't rot like the OE stuff and is cheap to replace. It would be unsuitable anywhere else. Likewise the small hose from expansion to header tank can be replaced with other types of hose, within reason.

Replaced mine (a while ago now) with some I chopped off a Volvo at the breakers yard.
Most cars have the same type of hose attached to their servos.
But if re-enforced washing machine pipe works and you have access to some, go for it :ok

No, it's just a vacuum pipe (hence why it has to be the reinforced type of pipe) there is no fluid in it.
