Platform bed build
Hi,
Just wanted to know if anyone has any tips for fabricating a platform bed box in rear engine bay?

Re: Platform bed build
Search on this, there are loads of examples, as this question comes up regularly. There are some pretty stylish constructions out there - kit-chens, tool boxes, etc. Don't forget to make sure you can open the engine lid.....

Where should I search?
Google doesn't bring up much.

Re: Platform bed build
That looks great thanks. Is it 12 mm ply?
I'm thinking of maybe Mdf and then covering in fabric. I'm going to fasten it all together with angle brackets. The seat belts at the rear will need to not be compromised by box section so I'll have to cut slats for them to work.
Joinery isn't my thing do any suggestions are welcome.

Re: Platform bed build
I see your point, I'll see about ply and then cover in fabric to finish.
Any more pics would be welcome.

When I said 'search', I meant on here, on this site.

Mind you, if you do search Google and look at images for "storage above engine VW T25" then you do get some interesting images.

Re: Platform bed build
I just repositioned my seat mountings so bed now lays down flat. Nice though the storage trays are, theres not a lot you can put in them to make full use of the space lost. All the ones I've seen are virtually empty even years later.
