Re: fitting interior light above passenger door
I didn't cut my headlining. I bridged twin core cable from the driver's light. One is positive and the other negative. The negative goes on the same light connection as the existing brown/ earth switched wire (operated by the driver's door switch). Now, when the driver's door is open both the driver and passenger lights come on.
Add another length if twin core from the passenger side down the internal channel next to the windscreen. Wire a door switch in and, at the passenger light connect it to the negative wire of the twin core. Now regardless of which door is open both lights will come on. With the other cable connect to the other earth terminal on the passenger light and, at the other end, to a good earth (use the f
crowns by the fuse box). This gives you the option to have the passenger light on any time by operating the switch on the passenger light.
The tricky bit is feeding the twin core across the headlining and down the windscreen channel. Try using some piping that's semi rigid. Like windscreen washer hose. Poke through, connect your wire on then pull the lot through.
Good luck

Re: fitting interior light above passenger door
did not think of putting "passenger light",tried the wiki and the electrical section of the archive section, thanks for the link,I have spliced into the existing wires, took a while to figure as the brand new Brickwerks light does not work, luckily I has an old one in the garage that works fine, just got to get a warm white LED from Campervan culture when they manage to re stock after Busfest,a very good upgrade if anyone is thinking about LED's

Worth pointing out that LED bulbs only work if the +ve and -ve wires are the right way around (or reverse the orientation of the bulb in the holder = easier). Also those "festoon bulbs" in LED warm white are also available from the likes of Ebay etc.

All these LED lights made in far east. Origin is key.
