2000cc twin soles to single carb conversion Yes or No? 1980

Post by Bkfielden »

Hi There, I have been having trouble with them running rough. I've been advised to get a single carb conversion and it will solve all my problems as my Solex twin carbs are worn. Has anybody done this and if it's a good idea, what the best kit to go for?

Any advice would be great as always...

Thanks a million

Can I point you to this thread...

I was advised initially to go for a single carb (by my mechanical guru) but decided to go for twin carbs. Finding information on the web is very difficult, so mine was very much a gut feel about twin versus single carb. I could afford the extra and I am now very happy with the set-up.

I feared the single carb would lack power and would require some modifications to the engine lid. A few people on here strongly advised against it - but without many reasons given....
