This was to a later wbx ant so the wiring is already there - I think you have to trace the wire all the way from the coil on an early bus but someone should be able to clarify.
yes on an early van you need to make a connection to the green wire on the coil all the way to the front of the van where the rev counter is located.
This wire needs to be protected because if it shorts to the body your van will die
So ideally use a 2 core like this so it is sleeved for extra protection as it would be in the loom, cut the other wire off at each end ( harder to buy single core double insulated)
You can run it under the van like this and cable tie it to the main loom.
the wire in the loom for later vans is 0.5mm2
