I have a small amount of oil in the cooling system but no water in the oil and no overheating issues, thinking it may be an oil cooler failure, anyone had the same problem ??
Thanks Baz.

Re: wbx oe oil cooler failure ?
I have not had it happen but a local mecanic is doing that job on a 2004 passat. The internals of the cooer went and water mixed with the oil and vice verse took a lot of flushing the coolent system to get rid of the oil.
Change the cooler for a new one but dont forget to order a new seal for it.

It's a common fault on the injection VW 1.8s and it's the same oil cooler.

Baz, you've had a proper cooler for a while now. Junk it. I can send you a DG (short) threaded tube for the filter for nothing, you will need a gas lamp to release the Loctite that retains the long tube in your DJ/MV case.
