Gaffer taping glass on sunroof HELP!

Post by Emma&Al »

Ive had to gaffer tape half of the sunroof due to it leaking in rainwater.
Over the weekend, I took up all the rugs and carpet in the back to reveal that the floor was absolutely soaking and had to allow a day for the ply wood to dry out - the sound deadening material under the front carpets are 3 days into drying and still wet!. All due to the leaking sunroof and the fact that I live on a hill, so the van is parked up at an angle allowing the rain to run through the roof lining and drip down.

The catches on the sunroof are really rusty and it looks to me as if the right hand side of the sunroof doesnt sit flush with the rubber seal. If I try and replace the seal (which could go horribly wrong as I have no experience), I'm not sure it will even fix the solution.
I do use the sunroof in the summer so I don't want to permanently seal it.
What are the options?

Thanks, Emma :)
